Video Premiere: Coma Wall ‘Breathe In The Ether’ Live At Shaken Oak Studios

As some of you will know, The Sleeping Shaman have a long standing history with Coma Wall, and their electric doom onslaught Undersmile, so it’s with great pleasure to be asked to premiere the new live video for the track Breathe In The Ether, to celebrate todays release of their new EP Ursa Minor.

Recorded live at Shaken Oak Studios, Oxfordshire during scorching hot day earlier this month and using the same DIY ethos that applied to the recording of the EP, the self filmed, and edited video showcases the band at their most sombre. As to quote Reza in his recent review of Ursa Minor ‘a gorgeous stripped down, bare-boned beauty with Taz and Hel’s vocals harmonizing to brilliant effect’.

More On Coma Wall & ‘Ursa Minor’

With 2020 plans curtailed by the global pandemic, we decided to look through the Undersmile archives and found these demos which we recorded in 2012. These 3 songs were originally written for Taz and Hel’s pre-Undersmile bands Skylla and Ursa Minor (hence the name of the EP) and date back to around 2007/2008. The performances were recorded live with bass and string overdubs added at a later date.

Although these recordings are just demos, the songs hold a special place in our hearts and so we dusted them off, remixed them, and now unleash them into the world. We hope you enjoy.
